Sundancer Hat

Apologies for the delay in responding. I was waiting for the hat to arrive with folks who were bringing it back to my home country from the United States. The hat looks great. And I understand that delivery was quick and smooth.

I wore this hat 1 time. It brushed against sunscreen that was normally applied to my body. The hat fabric picked up the sunscreen and looks melted/stained where it simply brushed up against and every day product that I wear. To me, it doesn't make sense that a sunhat would be completely melted by an SPF product. I am very unhappy with this purchase. A hat shouldn't look melted and stained after 1 use.

Tennis instructor here. Love these and have multiple colors. I use it beyond the court and love the chin strap for unexpected wonds. It’s saved me out on the water a number of times. Excited to see the cute patterns on the underside. May get a new one today…  For folks who forget or tore of daily sunblock, this hat will improve your life. Get one…or five. Also, I have a big head AND big textured hair (lucky me, I know!) and it works great.

This is my fourth hat of purchased of this style my second hat of this color. Been buying it for 4 years or more. Can't say enough great things about it I love it.

This is my third Sunday Afternoons hat. I bought this one after wearing and loving my Ultra Adventure hat because I wanted a hat that was more lightweight (the UA hat gets pretty hot in the sun) and had a ponytail hole. This one fit the bill, though I did try and return two other SA hats that I didn't like before getting this one.

Pros: comfortable, lightweight, ponytail hole, like the purple color, nice big brim and neck flap.

Cons: knocking off a star for two reasons. One, the back strap under the ponytail hole sometimes unthreads from the buckle, which then requires taking off the hat and rethreading. And two - the bigger issue, one I see others have - it gets blown off in anything stronger than a light breeze, no matter how much I tighten the straps. Luckily it doesn't actually blow off my head because the chinstrap catches it, but it's pretty annoying. I have had neither of these issues with the UA hat that I have.

A third issue is that it doesn't fold and stow easily; I love the brim on the Ultra Adventure hat that actually folds in half for easy storage. I think the foldable brim might also make it more flexible such that it doesn't blow off in a stiff breeze.

Anyway, it's a good hat, just has a few design flaws that should be attended to.

OBSESSED!!! I had this hat in hot pink and wanted a more neutral color to match with more outfits. The coverage, the light weight, the structure and design are 20/10 for me. I have tried many, many sun hats and this is my new favorite.

The hat is absolutely beautiful. I am a HUGE Sunday Afternoons fan. My only complaints are that the hat is a bit too small when I put my hair up under it (I wear a high pony tail so the pony tail window doesn't work for me) and that the chin straps are too far back on the brim. They rub my ears raw and cause the hat to blow off as soon as there is any breeze. It's still a super cute hat and when there is no wind and I wear my hair down, it's perfect.

I love your hats! I bought one for me & the other for a friend. So protective from skin cancer.

My favorite hat for many years now. Comfortable, I can lean back on a lounge chair without the back brim getting in the way. Good Coverage. Packs well. I get complements all the time. I would love a darker beige option as mine get stained after years of use.

Please don’t EVER discontinue this wonderful hat! I wear my amethyst one every single day and have done since I discovered them over ten years ago. My new granddaughter always wore a hat and I decided I needed to do the same. I have always disliked wearing hats-they were uncomfortable, made my he’d sweat, and were often ugly. This hat is a game changer! So much so that I have worn out at least two of them. It keeps my hair out of my face, protects my face and neck from the sun, and if you also have a ponytail you can pull it through the back.

It is a perfect hat Could we have some more colors?

I bought like 8 of those hats, 4 for myself over the years, several for gifts. They are just perfect.

I have an older sundancer hat, maybe 5 years old or so. I’m not crazy about this new one. The dome of the hat is more shallow so it slips off easier, and the neck straps have been moved back slightly so they go right over my ears and into my neck vs in front of my ears and under my chin (older version). Just less comfortable overall.

Overall, a cute hat that fits well, but... It really needs a nice sweat pad inside - for both comfort and, well, sweat. It kind of digs into the forehead, and isn't the most comfortable hat. I've owned similar sunhats by other vendors, and they were much more comfortable because of the forehead pad.

I was looking for a hat with a wide brim, neck and ear protection, in a fun color and one that looked a bit fashionable. This hat checks all boxes. I purchased this hat in red- a fun color! andThe color along with the pleated neck cape make this hat stand out from other sun hats. The hat is lightweight and provides full protection for my neck, ears and face. I get many compliments when wearing it. I highly recommend this hat for work and fun outings!

Wind blows it off my head, even on tightest setting. Have to hold the strap to keep on head when walking on windy beach.

I was first introduced to Sunday Afternoon Hats on a trek up Mount Shasta in 2017. 7 years later I still have that original hat which has become a favorite of both my grandson and husband as they work on our property in the hot Texas sun. When I discovered your website, I was elated and bought myself another hat - the Sundance - love this just as much as my first one. My grandson and husband finally got their own as well one a little more tired for their rugged outdoor work. Excellent products! Highly recommended for all occasions. Thank you for these!

Love 💕 the coverage, the fit (with the pull tab) and the hair hole- amazing. It also fits my large head with lots of hair.

Usually I love the Sundance, but this time and the other recent time I ordered it the chin strap is too far back. It is very difficult after cutting it off to connect it to the brim again in the place where they used to be put. I also feel that the color on the website is not accurate.

Just bought my 4th Sundancer hat. I live in the tropics and don't go outside without my Sundancer hat. Love the wide brim that's wire reinforced for shaping. The veil on the back protects my neck from the sun, too. I appreciate the chin string that helps keep my hat from blowing off in a strong breeze.
