Adventure Hat

I purchased this hat to wear in the hot Palm Desert sun and on a recent trip to the Amazon. It is lightweight and provided wide coverage for both my face and neck. But it didn't survive the packable test. Once I got it out of my suitcase, the brim in the middle kept its fold so it looked rather ridiculous on me. I guess they should have provided instructions not to fold it in the middle but lay it flat on its sides so that the folds are on the sides. Not sure what to do with it now. It had such promise!

My first Adventure Hat was a gift from my wife. I keep it on my boat in the Carribean and wear it all winter. It weighs nothing, is not too warm, and the front brim does not flip up or down in the wind. So I bought one for myself for the summer when I am home. It is great at the beach, protecting my ears and neck from the sun. If there is a better sun hat, I haven't found it yet.

I live in Lake Havasu City, AZ. We Garden for Bees and Butterflies. We are a certified Monarch Way Station. We spend a lot of time out in the intense sun and this is my go to hat! It is the most comfortable and most cooling hat I have ever had.

I have a big head. Before Sunday Afternoons I could not wear a hat. In 2017 I visited Peru (my hometown country and my friends introduced me to SA’s hats
Since then, I am in my number 4 hat. I also buy them for mu husband, children and grandchildren,

An 'Ultra' adventure hat would keep the regular adventure hat brim-width and cape dimensions, and add a folding brim (excellent improvement, it makes it packable) as well as other features. (I have to wear my glasses all the time, so the sunglasses holder feature is useless to me.) This version has a narrower brim and cape and doesn't provide adequate sun protection. The adventure hat has great sun protection, but isn't easily packable (brim creases when rolled). Disappointed, I will be looking elsewhere for an effective sun hat.

I bought this hat in 2017 and 6 years later it is holding up great! I absolutely love it. At first I only wore it occasionally but then got into some regular outdoor activities - boating and walking. This summer I wore the hat every day to keep out the heat/sun. It is almost like new! It washes well too. I have a small head and got the medium size which fits very well.

This was my favorite hat, when I was Trekking to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, it covered my neck, Face and ears. It was light weight and I gel inlove with this style from the beginning.

I’ve had my hat for 5 years now.Surfing,rock climbing, skiing, white water rafting, this hat has done it all with me. I just bought 2 more for my family members. Hands down the best Sun hat I own, bar none.

Keeping the brim perfect is impossible. As soon as you pull the headband tightening cinch, it creases the brim at the cinch line and there goes the unflawed brim; so just go ahead and accept that the brim is going to be bent and slightly irregular.

These hats are fantastic. I think we've bought about 10 over the years (we have a large family and they keep growing!)

I have had this hat albeit an earlier version for 15 years or thereabouts. It has kept the sun off me for thousands of hours and still looks good despite the age. I really can't say enough good about the hat. One comment I would make to Sunday Afternoons is to bring back the really open mesh on the sides of the Adventure Hat. I know my hat has less sun protection given the weave on my hat but the increase in ventilation is worth the bit more sun.

I’ve worn this hat for walks around my neighborhood, local hikes. Love the wide brim - it keeps the FL sun off my face. I’ve sprayed it w/bug spray, and didn’t need a bug net. Wore this hat on my hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon & back up - I hardly knew I had the hat on (that’s a good thing). Only request is to add the sweatband all around the circumference, as I had to wear a separate sweatband. The hat washes well in the washer on delicate, and dries quickly.

The good: It may look worse for the wear but between forest service, ski patrol, trail work, countless hikes, manual labor, and general garden work my hat is still going strong. Even with me rolling it up to stuff in my pack!

The bad: One small tear has developed in the fabric. I also had to take in excess on the back flap so it would hang nicely flat. Packing it flat isn’t easy in a hike pack. It’s hard to keep securely rolled up. Some sun fading has occurred on the side mesh.

Looking at getting a new one to wear when I don’t want to look completely grungy. I wish there was a hybrid between the adventure and sport version of these hats. I would LOVE for my adventure hat to have loops to hold sunglasses secure and the brim to fold yet still have max sun protection (hint hint). Have to wear glasses on my head under my hat to keep them secure which looks weird and makes for inconvenient sunglass access.

This is my 3rd Sun Day Afternoons Hat, and my favorite. The color Bluestone is muted and perfect for me. It's lightweight and definitely keeps the sun off my face and neck. The only negative is the inside sweatband which would work better if it were sewn down, it tends to fold forward.

Fits well, great sun protection and the strap holds your hat on to your head on a windy day. Worth the money and lasts for years!

My head is really large and very hard to find hats that fit.. this one fits.. i am happy.. well constructed.. looking forward to a canoe trip and some long days in the sun on the beach.

I purchased my Adventure hat in 1997. It is the only hat I've owned that did not cause a headache when I wear it. I wear it all the time and it is still in like new condition. Best hat ever!!!
