I bought this hat as an alternative for my Lotus. I love the Lotus, but wanted a shorter-brimmed alternative since the wide brim of the Lotus sometimes obscures my vision (low branches, playground equipment). Quest serves that purpose, but I am disappointed in how the brim flaps in the breeze, eliminating my sun protection/requiring me to hold it down or push it back over my brow. Could you please make the brim the same as the Lotus, Sunday Afternoons? It's an issue to be aware of, shopper, if you live in a windy place and/or this issue annoys you too.
The photos do not show the attractive purple fabric under the rim. This helps block glare, and it looks sharp too. Nor does it show the hidden pocket on the top of the hat where you can store a dollar or two or maybe a credit card. I wish the mesh air filter area were a bit larger, but for all its good features and its great price, this is the best soft brimmed hat out there. Believe me. I compared all of them—Columbia, REI, Orvis, Patagonia, North Face and every other manufacturer. I lost my 10 year old Columbia hat, but this replacement is working great.
I have a huge assortment of Sunday Afternoon hates, and this is my new casual favorite! My other favorite is the fancier Vinyard hat. This is a winner because of the new lighter fabric that is cooler than the thicker fabric used in the Adventure, Charter, etc. My husband and I are traveling to India and Nepal and we both elected to take our Quests; mine is blue and his is green.
I purchased the Quest hat in Tucson for a birding trip in southeast Arizona. I have a rather small head and the adjustable size allowed for a good fit. It worked well on windy mountain tops and provided great sun protection. I love this hat. It is functional and stylish.
Bought this hat and I love it! Covers my face from the sun, looks super cute on. The fabric is cool in the hot weather. Its foldable for my purse or backpack. Great colors to choose from too.
