Here in rainy Oregon the Cloudburst Hat is a staff favorite! This versatile waterproof rain hat offers exceptional coverage from rain, light showers and hard downpours - and, its fully sun protective. 3.75" front brim and 6" rear veil keeps rain outside of your collar while the interior wicking liner aids in evaporation, cooling and breathability.
How did I live without this hat? I'm not quite sure, because now, it is always with me whether we are having a drizzle, or a full-blown thunderstorm. I am a person who dislikes carrying and using umbrellas, but had never previously been able to find a rain hat that was stylish or useful enough for me...until the Oregon Cloudburst hat! It protects my glasses, my face, my hair, and even keeps the rain from running down the back of my neck and into my clothes! The one thing I would say is that you should size down when you order this hat. I have always worn a large in hats, mainly because of the amount of hair I have. The large in this hat, even with the strap tightened as much as possible, is still a bit too big.
I love this hat and get many complements. The brim is the perfect size to keep rain off my glasses and the veil on the back is better than a brim for staying dry in a down pour. The mesh liner makes it much more comfortable than I expected. Another thing I like about the veil on several SA hats is the hat is less likely to get blown off in the wind. It's harder for a wind gust to get up under the veil.
Had to use for the first time in the rain and snow storm last week and it did what it was suppose to do. Kept my head and neck dry.
How could anyone do without this hat in their wardrobe? Fantastic piece of clothing to compliment your rain gear.
I bought this hat to be both a sun hat and rain hat. It works great for rain. My head gets too hot and soaked in sweat if I wear this hat in the sun. The rain protection features block air flow. I do recommend it for a rain hat, do not recommend you buy it for use as a sun hat.
