Women's Riviera Hat

Even though the hat is a bit heavy & hot, it does the job of keeping the sun off & looks great at the same time. I think Rachel's comments are going to be true of most hats of this style. It's hot regardless with any hat one would wear in extreme weather. I'd rather be a little hot than have my face & neck look like leather from sun damage. I'm purchasing one for my daughter who borrowed mine for a trip & she's hooked on it. She got a ton of compliments on it. I travel to Mexico frequently & use it every day when I'm there. At home, in Oregon, I wear it all summer to Farmer's Market, etc. Love it!!!

I live in Florida. This hat is so hot that I would rather take the sun than sweat like a dog wearing this hat. Also, from sweating while wear this hat a sweat stain is on the base of the crown of the hat. A good wind will blow it off your head. Look at how much a hat weighs before you buy it, that makes a big difference.

I bought this hat for use near the pool and beach this summer. The wide brim was perfect for my needs -- the glare of the sun didn't bother me nearly so much while wearing this hat. It's comfortable to wear and stylish. I bought it in cream; I am ready to buy another one in the natural color. I will probably add some sort of thin ribbon to prevent it from blowing off my head on windy days.

I chose this to go with a variety of summer wear (including lots of dresses and skirts, but possibly also some shorts, jeans, and capris). The tweed color is as pictured, and it fits well. The brim is wide, but I have no issues with visibility, which is great (always a concern with a wide-brimmed hat) - partly due to the structure of the hat brim. The crown is not too deep, so the hat does not look bulky or cumbersome, and sits comfortably on the forehead. It may feel a bit heavy after a while on very hot days, but overall is quite comfortable on, and I do think it suits a wide variety of clothing and summer "looks"...

I just got my Riviera hat and will be wearing it on fun summer outings.

I just received my hat today and put it right on and headed for the golf course. The hat is beautiful. I immediately got several compliments on it. It didn't improve my game but it covered my head and my neck and blocked the sun completely from my face. I absolutely love it.

I wore this hat every sunny moment at the beach and on the boat. Loved the look of the straw and the neutral color. Classic! Wore it until it blew overboard. Could use a pretty chin strap.

I love these hats. I wear them everyday it isn't raining since I have to protect my skin at all costs. They are stylish and pack away with ease. I abuse them quite a bit, crushing, smooshing, wearing them in all sorts of tough situations and they last through the beating. At the end of the year I buy a new one to get a stiffer brim again and then use my old one for truly rough excursions. Living in Oregon water can be tricky with woven hats. I've never worn mine in a true rainstorm, but a quick sprinkle doesn't seem to hurt it. Everyone loves it and can't believe that it is made partially from paper! I love the wide brim so it protects all angles of my face and neck. It is a must have for sunny days.
The only tough thing for me (I have this problem with every hat) is that it is too big. A little foam inside though helps it fit better.
