I have a small farm, and this hat is excellent for taking care of my animals when it is raining. If it is just misting or a light rain, I will not wear any other rain gear besides the hat. For hard rain, the hat and my rain coat are sufficient for protection to below my hips (where my rain coat ends). The hat keeps rain and drips from running down my collar. I highly recommend this hat. It may be costly, however it is well made.

I contacted Sunday Afternoons looking for a hat that would protect me equally from strong sun and pouring rain. I am an adult adviser with a co-ed teenaged crew hiking 80 miles in the wilds of Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico this summer, and need to be prepared for all kinds of weather.

Customer Service suggested the Cloudburst hat, and I could not be happier. I used it last weekend on a training hike and luckily (or unluckily) tried it out in both sun and rain. During a classic New England thunderstorm, I felt like I had my own personal umbrella keeping me dry. What I especially liked was the fact that my face and glasses stayed dry throughout a rigorous hike in a deluge of rain! I actually laughed at the weather!

Later, when the sun came out, I was pleased to have my face and eyes shaded in protective comfort. Add to this the fact that the hat packs well in a backpack, is lightweight, comfortable, and works well with a “bug net hat bucket". I can rest assured that I will be a happy camper on my Philmont Trek!

Thank you for making a perfect product!

I live in Seattle, WA and I don't like carrying an umbrella. This hat is wonderful. It keeps me dry and because of the drawstring it stays on my head. And the back and sides can be tucked under the hood of my rain jacket. I love it and wouldn't go anywere without it!!!

My husband and I both have this hat. We love it. I find it much easier to wear this hat rather than use an umbrella during a downpour.
